Look past the headline offer.
An offer is a number and a set of terms. Understanding both can help you compare proposals more clearly.
What could change the price?
Ask whether the figure depends on inspections, a property visit, repairs or other reviews. Understand how later adjustments are proposed and what choices you would have.
What costs would you pay?
Ask for an itemized estimate showing commissions or service charges, closing expenses, credits, loan payoffs and any other deductions that apply. Estimates can change; ask which amounts are confirmed.
What conditions remain?
Ask about financing, proof of funds, title review, contingencies and any assignment provisions. Have a qualified professional explain unfamiliar terms before you sign.
What happens if plans change?
Clarify deadlines, any deposit, possession arrangements and contractual cancellation rights. Do not assume that an informal no-obligation inquiry means a signed contract can be canceled without consequences.
